A graveside service for Philip Wayne Hoosier will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 9, 2022, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, 2038 W. 4th St. Pleasant Hill LA under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. Pallbearers will be Cody Benoit, Caiden Benoit, Donald Armentor, Robby Hebert, Tommy Bult, and Waylon LaRoux. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Benoit, John Bult, and Grayson Skaggs.

Wayne was born December 12, 1954, in De-Quincy, LA and passed away May 6, 2022, in Lake Charles, LA at the age of 67. In 1973, he graduated from Barbe High School and then began a career in the oil field working in logistics. Wayne enjoyed being outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a huge fan of the Dallas Cowboys and LSU Tigers. He loved music and played the guitar. Wayne had a generous personality and the best grin. He would keep everyone laughing with his sense of humor. He has left a lasting impression on anyone who knew him and will be remembered as a loving father, brother, and uncle.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Philip Hoosier & Lillie Mae Phillips Hoosier and brother-in-law, Ray Hardee.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Joshua Hoosier and wife Heather; sister, Evelyn Hoosier Hardee; brother, James “PeeWee” Hoosier and wife Ali; and a host of nieces and nephews.
