Steven Wayne Green

Steven Green went home to be with the Lord on August 4, 2023, in Lafayette, LA. He passed away peacefully with loved ones at his side.

Steven was born on September 18, 1955 in Midland, Texas. He was the very special son of Gordon and Katherine Green. Steven spent most of his life in Sabine parish where he attended school in Many and Negreet. He also attended the Natchitoches Vocational School where he learned to do upholstery work. Most of his adult life was spent as a client of SARC in Many, LA. He enjoyed doing several different jobs there before moving to Shreveport, where he attended the day program at Holy Angels for several years. He lived with his sister Rhonda Howard until her recent passing.

Steven was a member of Hope Community Church in Shreveport. He was a dear soul who never met a stranger. He loved working with his hands. He loved talking to people and making new friends. His love language was gift giving and he was always working on a craft project to gift to loved ones and friends. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

Steven was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Katherine Green; and his sister, Rhonda Howard. He is survived by his sister, Sandra Dees and husband, Bill, of Lafayette; four nephews, Jason Dees (Liz); Derek Dees (Jessica); Courtney Howard; and Patrick Howard (Ena); along with five great nieces and nephews, Charlotte Dees; William Dees; Eve Dees; Henry Dees; and Nora Howard. He also leaves behind a host of family and friends who loved him dearly.

Funeral services will be held at Warren Meadows Funeral Home on Friday, August 11, 2023. Visitation will begin at 9 am, followed by funeral services at 10 am. Graveside and burial will be at Belmont Cemetery, where he will rest beside his loving parents.
