Susan Meadows Giblin

In the early morning hours of Monday, February 26, 2024, Susan Meadows Giblin passed away at her home. She was 70 years old.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 2, 2024 in the chapel of Warren Meadows Funeral Home with Bro. Wayne Chance officiating. Her burial will follow in Many Cemetery. A visitation will begin at 5:00 PM on Friday, March 1, 2024 at Warren Meadows Funeral Home, Many, LA.

Susan was born on April 17, 1953 in Many, LA. to Warren and Eloise Meadows. A hometown girl, she attended Many schools where she was active in numerous activities that included MHS Band, where she served as a majorette and was crowned Miss Sabine Parish in 1970. She married Floyd Giblin in 1973 and four years later when her father offered the young couple the family business, and with their little auburn-haired toddler in tow, Susan and Floyd moved back to Many to become the second generation owners of Warren Meadows Funeral Home.

Susan loved taking care of her family and her community. She was an exceptional cook, an avid reader, with her happiest times being at the beach and dancing on the dance floor. She and Floyd traveled the world, enjoyed scuba diving, dancing, and friendships that became family. Learning at the knee of her father, Susan served her families with grace, compassion, love and big hugs.

She is survived by her daughter, Amy Meadows Giblin; fur baby, Lizzie; companion, Robert Rowe; grandchildren, Taylor Barajas (Courtney), Hope Barnhill and Kamryn Courtney (Taylor); her extended family, Amber Barajas, Reba Lane Lopez, her family of Warren Meadows Funeral Home: Ken Leach, Jennifer LeBaron, Kirk Rogers, Curtis Rogers, Lance Leone, Mike and Brenda Lyddy, Eva Montgomery, Charlene Leone, Dawn Leone and Mary Dockens.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Eloise (Ware) Meadows; husband, Floyd J. Giblin; and brother, Chris Meadows.

Pallbearers will be: Taylor Barajas, Robby Lang, Frank LeBaron, Brian Carroll, David Harris, Jr., Harold Anderson and Jackie Craig.

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sabine Humane Society.
