Garland William Fryday

Funeral services for Garland William Fryday, 79, of Zwolle, LA, will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Warren Meadows Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. James “Jimmy” Matlock III officiating. Burial will follow in the Zwolle City Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Warren Meadows Funeral Home, Many LA.

Garland William Fryday was born on Wednesday, April 19, 1944 in Lake Charles, LA. He passed away on Friday, March 29, 2024 at Overton Brooks Veteran’s Hospital in Shreveport, LA.

Billy was a boiler tech in the U. S. Navy in Vietnam from 1961-1965. He was very proud to have served our country. He was a member of Glaziers Union Local 1778 in Houston, Texas for over 30 years. He and his wife, Cindy retired to Toledo Bend Lake in 2003. He loved fishing, gardening, boating, riding his trike and playing his guitar. Billy loved his family and loved teaching his grandchildren everything he knew. He was a kind man, loved and respected by all. Gone to soon but never forgotten.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Garland Albert and Hattie Marie (Key) Fryday; brother, James Matlock, Jr.; sister, Patsy Marie Fryday.

He is survived by his wife, Lucinda (Cindy) Fryday of Zwolle, LA; daughter, Denise Deason of Crosby, TX.; son, Anthony Holmes of Camarillo, CA.; five grandchildren, Kaley Bowdoin of Seabrook, TX., Trey Deason of Crosby, TX., Alyssa Deason of League City, TX., Julian Holmes of Tappahannock, VA. and Jordan Holmes of Blacksburg, VA.; one great grandson, Malakai Deason of Crosby, TX.; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers will be: Brandon Fryday, Trey Deason, Julian Holmes, Richard Gatti, David Anphion and Kaleb Gatti.
