Patsy Sue Tarpley Brown

A memorial Service honoring the life of Patsy Sue Tarpley Brown will be held Saturday, March 16, 2024, at the Oak Hill Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, Many, Louisiana, at 1:00pm.

Sue Passed away on January 8, 2024 in Cedar Park, Texas, at the age of 82. She was born, the only daughter, of Allen and Juanita Tarpley in Many, Louisiana on June 10, 1941. Sue graduated from Negreet High School in May 1959 and continued her education at a business college in Shreveport, Louisiana. While living in Shreveport she met and married the love of her life, Harold Brown. They were married April 29, 1960 in Marshall, Texas.

Sue is preceded in death be her husband Harold, her parents, two brothers, Spencer Tarpley of Bruecken, Germany and Ear W. (Sam) Tarpley of Many, LA.

Kathleen Anne (Delany) Meyer

Kathleen Meyer departed this world to join our Lord Jesus Christ, and all the Saints in Paradise, on February 02, 2024, following an extended period of illness. Born to Clara Louise (Soland) Delany and William Harry Delany in Houston, Texas on November 4, 1951, Kathleen was the first of two children. As a young girl, Kathleen watched over and played with her younger brother and helped her mother around the house. She was a good student, took piano lessons, sang in the school choir and twirled batons in the high school marching cadet corp. After obtaining an Undergraduate Degree in Education, she completed Graduate Masters and PHD Studies in Child Psychology at the University of Houston. Kathleen, a dedicated parishioner of Saint Joseph Catholic Church, was happily married to her husband of 51 years, Michael Meyer, and was a caring, loving mother to their son, Rex Meyer. Kathleen was superseded in death by her father Harry Delany.

Funeral services celebrating the life of Bertha Stevens will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 25, 2024, at Blue Ridge Methodist Church, 3500 Hwy 175, Pleasant Hill, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Bro. David Hall and Bro. Glynn Howard. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Pleasant Hill, Louisiana. Visitation will be held Sunday, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at the church.

Bertha was born April 27, 1936, in Pelican, Louisiana to May Baker and Jack Fisher. She entered into rest on Thursday, February 22, 2024, in Bossier City, Louisiana.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Maye Baker and Jack Fisher; first husband, Willie Cobbs; second husband, Dalton Stevens; son, Gary Cobbs; sisters, Jackie Smith, Joyce Whatley; grandsons, T-Bo Cobbs, Sammy Cobbs, and Ty Cobbs; and son-in-law, Mark Austin.

Mary Laverne Paddie was born on Saturday, April 19, 1930 in Catuna, LA. She passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at Toledo Nursing Center in Zwolle, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Manual Procell and Evaline (Paddie) Procell; husband, J. R. Paddie, Sr.; sons, Curtis Paddie, Perry Paddie and Johnnie Paddie; six sisters; two brothers; grandsons, Richard Procell and Curt Paddie and her greatgreat grandchildren, Sophia and Greyson.

Dean Hillman officiating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery, 307 Hammond Street, Zwolle, Louisiana. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, February 12, 2024, at Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Many, Louisiana and again on Tuesday morning from 8:00 a.m. until service time at 10:00 a.m.

“Tiny”, 44 of Zwolle, Louisiana, was born February 14, 1979, in Pleasant Hill, Louisiana to Lennis Ray Meshell and Linda (King) Meshell and went to his heavenly home February 8, 2024, in Shreveport, Louisiana after a brief illness.

Roy Dennis (RD) Hildebrand

Roy Dennis Hildebrand left us after a short battle with cancer on January 29, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones at home in Bossier City, Louisiana. Roy was born April 8, 1957, to Roy and Peggy Hildebrand. He was a special and one-of-a-kind man, friend to many and incredibly generous. Roy loved sports and had the opportunity to play college basketball but chose to pursue his career in the oilfield. Roy spent 42 years working in Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, and the last 15 years with XTO/Exxon Mobil in Tyler, Texas.

Roy and his wife Pamela relocated to Bossier City, Louisiana after his retirement to be closer to family and friends. Roy and Pam married on May 7, 1999, in Pleasant Hill, Louisiana. They enjoyed trips to Oklahoma, taking weekend rides in their antique cars while listening to old classics. Roy’s love for old cars was also shared with his brother, Bryan. He accepted Christ as his lord and savior as a young man at Mt. Heights Baptist Church in Mansfield, LA.

Jacqueline Kay Salter Blackmon (Jackie)

Jacqueline Kay Salter Blackmon was born on July 27, 1947, in Gladewater, Texas to James Kile and Mary Jo Salter. She was the first girl born into the Salter family in almost a hundred years. On Friday evening, February 2, 2024, she succumbed to complications related to Lewy Body Dementia. Jackie was 76 years old. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Dean Blackmon, her father and mother, James Kile and Mary Jo Salter, two brothers, Jimmy Salter and Dana Joe Salter. She is survived by a brother John Lewis and his wife Kathy of College Station, Tx. and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was known by several names, Jackie, Sis, Aunt Sis, Momma Jack and a couple that cannot be printed for public review. Sis grew up in the “suburbs” of Florien, Louisiana in the Antioch community. As a youngster, she took piano lessons and became an accomplished pianist.

Mark David Holcomb

Mark Holcomb, 64, of Many Louisiana passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2024. Mark was born January 29, 1959, to parents William and Ramona Holcomb.

He worked for Calcasieu Ambulances as a paramedic and dispatcher. He also worked for the Ward 1 Fire Department on Engine 3 selflessly serving the Moss Bluff area. He belonged to the Masonic Lodge Sam Todd N. 182. He had his American Radio Relay League License and had a passion for the Ham Radio where his handle was KE5HSW.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Kalene Holcomb, Marlene Holcomb (Brandon) and Julie Trejo (Sergio); son, Travis Pitre (Jessica); stepdaughters, Antoinette Nelson (Brandon) and Rachelle Harper (Samuel); mother, Ramona Minyard Holcomb; grandchildren, Kaileianna (JT), Skylar, Brandon, Austin, Raelynn, and Rhett; great grandchild, Grayson; sisters, Karen Turner (Michael) and Rhonda Harb, and numerous nieces and nephews.
