Louise Pennington

Louise Pennington, 86, of Zwolle entered into eternal rest on February 5, 2022.

A visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m. with funeral services to follow beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, located at Aimwell Baptist Church in Zwolle, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Bro. Ronny Sandifer. Interment will be held at Aimwell Cemetery, Zwolle, Louisiana.

Louise was born on December 20, 1935, in Sabine Parish, Louisiana to Daniel Patton and Artie Jane Brumley Patton.

Preceding Louise are her parents, Daniel and Artie Jane Patton; husband, Jay Pennington; four brothers and one sister; daughter-in-law, Kathy Wiley and grandson, Chad Wiley. She is survived by her son, Michael Wiley; grandson, Craig Wiley and fiancé J.J.; along with three great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. In addition, she leaves a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives.

Mary Lene Lawrence

Funeral services celebrating the life of Mary Lene Lawrence, 92, of Many, were held on Friday, February 18, 2022 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Cyle Clayton officiating. Burial followed in the Many Cemetery.

Mary Lene Lawrence was born on Saturday, June 1, 1929 in Dirago, Kentucky. She went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 14, 2022, with her daughter Marilyn by her side.

Mary Lene was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church where she served in the nursery, taught Sunday School, Bible School, and baked many goodies for church fellowships. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, cooking for her family, nurturing her garden, writing letters to family and friends and watching Hallmark movies.

Her sweet sprit was a welcomed treat as people entered K&W Clothing Store where Mary Lene helped Mike and Marilyn Nichols serve the community.

Ricky D. Sepulvado

Ricky Sepulvado, 59, of Zwolle, Louisiana entered into eternal rest on February 14, 2022, in Shreveport.

Funeral services honoring the life of Ricky will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Noble. Officiating the service will be Fr. Keith Garvin. Interment was held in the church cemetery.

Ricky was born on October 31, 1962, in Converse, to Teofilo Sepulvado, Jr. and Lois Remedies Sepulvado.

Eugene Alton

Funeral services for Eugene Coffey, 78, of Converse were held on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Midway Baptist Church with Bro. Jimmy Price officiating. Burial followed in the Shiloh Cemetery.

Eugene Coffey was born on Monday, September 6, 1943 in Welch, West Virginia. He passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at Toledo Nursing Center in Zwolle.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Preston Coffey and Lyda L. Coffey; wife, Virginia Ann Leggett Coffey; and his brother, Jeffery P. Coffey.

Barbara Rains, 83, of Marthaville died at the Natchitoches Regional Medical Center Thursday, February 10. 2022.

Graveside services will be held at Old Pisgah Cemetery on July 24, 2022 on Barbara Ann’s 84th birthday.

Barbara Ann was born on July 24, 1938, in Sabine Parish she was the middle child of W.W. (Dub) Singletary and Lou Ann Davis Singletary.

She attended Belmont School and graduated with the Class of 1957. Upon her graduation, she married her high school sweetheart Ronald Rains, they shared over 64 years of marriage, during that time they reared two daughters. Ronald worked in the oil field for over 45 years, during that time, Barbara Ann and the girls would travel and live in many different places overseas.

For the last nine years, Barbara Ann had been in bad health and for most of the time was bedridden. Ronald was her caretaker and as he looks back, he can’t remember a time when she was not in his life.

Charles Lester Pilcher

Charles Lester Pilcher, 84, of Many died at his home Sunday, Feb. 13, 2022, surrounded by his family.

Services will be at Rose-Neath Funeral Home of Many at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16. Graveside services will follow at Beulah Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 5-9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15 at the funeral home.

Charles was born Aug. 26, 1937, in Rodessa, the oldest child of Henry Lester Pilcher and Esther Lopez Pilcher. He attended Alliance School as a youngster and graduated from Negreet High School in 1955. Upon completing high school, Charles worked on the pipeline and served in the U.S. National Guard.

On July 1, 1961, he married Sarah Walker, also of Negreet, and they shared over 60 years together, settling outside Zwolle and rearing three children.

Funeral services for Kayson O’Con will be held on Friday, February 11, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home with Tommy Bridges, Wade Merrill, and Kyle Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Lambertown Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a visitation on Thursday, February 10, 2022 from 6:00 pm until 10:00 pm at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home.

Kayson is survived by his parents, Joshua O’Con and Gracie Frost; his paternal grandparents, Wayne and Celeste O’Con; his maternal grandparents, Monica and Graham Almanza and Brandin and Shelly Frost; his great-grandparents, Tommy and Joyce Hall, Donna and John Kaminsky, and Margaret Thompson; uncles, Wesley O’Con, Alec Culbertson, and Christian Culbertson; aunts, Christian Lawson and her husband Justin, Rayvin Frost, and Dana Starnes. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and extended family.

Ezra James Powell was born on Monday, October 30, 1950 in Zwolle, LA. He passed away on Friday, February 11, 2022 at Many Health Care North in Many, LA.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Vincent Powell; mother, Grace S. Powell; brother, William Monroe Powell.

Billy Ray Green, 88, of Many, Louisiana entered into eternal rest on February 7, 2022.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Friday, February 11, 2022, and will continue on Saturday, February 12, 2022 from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., located at Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Many Chapel. Funeral services honoring Billy will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at the chapel. Officiating the service will be his great nephew, Bro. Rusty Hall. Interment will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery, Many, Louisiana.

Billy was born on February 22, 1933, in Red River Parish, Louisiana to Duxie Bennon Green and Gertrude Minerva Steveson Green.

Roma Veuleman passed away peacefully in her home February 1, 2022. She was 74. She is survived by her children: Elton R. Savell (Kristi), James A. “Bugs” Veuleman, Jr. (Ashley), Leah V. Byles (Gale); eight grandchildren: Cecily, Blake, Scott, John Tyler, Sydni, Blain, Nolan, Layton; six great-grandchildren: Zoey, Gavin, Weston, Tucker, Kasyn, and Kolt; three sisters: Fran Knott of Grapevine, TX, Syble Gandy of Many, and Rita Roark of Negreet; and two brothers: Gene Wright of Negreet, and Tony Wright of Denton TX.
