Funeral services for Sheila Anthony, 62, of Florien, were held on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Warren Meadows Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wilton Anthony officiating. Burial followed in the Pine Knot Cemetery.

Sheila Anthony was born on Tuesday, April 7, 1959 in Shreveport. She passed away on Saturday, October 23, 2021 in Shreveport.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ottis Lewing and Ruby Powell; brother, Pete Lewing; and her daughter, Angel Baylor.

She is survived by her son, Dillon Anthony and wife Brittany of Natchitoches; son-in-law, Wes Baylor of Center, Texas; brother, Kevin Lewing of Marthaville; grandchildren, Abby Baylor of Center, Texas; Jayne Baylor of Center, Texas; Luke Stuchick of Pineville; Aubrey Anthony of Natchitoches; and Cooper Anthony of Natchitoches; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers were Dillon Anthony, Wes Baylor, Clint Sparks, Bryce LaFleur, Logan Rogers and Shain Erwin.

Debra Maurice Zuel

A memorial service honoring the life of Debra Maurice Zuel, 67, were held on Friday, October 29, 2021 at Blue Ridge Methodist Church.

Debra was born to Dempsey Miller and Peggy Bryant Miller (Kettlewell) on October 24, 1953 in Baton Rouge and entered into eternal rest on October 19, 2021 in Pleasant Hill.

Debra was a resident of Pleasant Hill and worked as a Cashier for quite some time. She attended Blue Ridge Methodist Church and was a faithful follower of Christ. Debra enjoyed playing pool, video poker, watching Saints football, spending time with friends and family and had a deep-rooted passion for helping others. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She touched many lives and will be truly missed by those who knew her.

Lucius Clair Wright

A graveside service were held at the Many Cemetery for Lucius Clair Wright on November 2 at 2:00 p.m. He passed away peacefully on October 28, 2021 at Sabine Retirement and Rehab in Many. Lucius was born in Many on January 20, 1937 to Martha Lucius Wright and Cecil Clair Wright. He is survived by his sister, Cecile Lites; sons, Brad Wright (wife, Julee); and Shane Wright (wife, Sarah); his grandchildren, James Wilson (fiancé, Kimberly Normand); Rebecca Mitchell (husband, Bruce); Sara Edwards (husband, Landon); and Alaina Wright. Also, six great-grandchildren: Bailee Mitchell, Chandler Mitchell, Avery Mitchell, Lillian Mitchell, Braylon Normand and Ridge Wilson; and a host of extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his beautiful and loving wife, Coda Leach Wright; his mother, Martha Wright; father, Cecil Wright; and brother-in-law Leslie Lites.

A private family service honoring the life of Clinton Paul Jenkins will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at Calvary Baptist Church in Mansfield. Inurnment will immediately follow at Sloan Cemetery next to the church.

Clinton was born on November 7, 1984, to Ned Walter Jenkins, III and Lisa Evans Jenkins in Hampton, Virginia. He passed away on September 1, 2021, in Many, Louisiana, as the result of an automobile accident. Clint was a graduate of Converse High School and Nashville Auto Diesel College in Nashville, TN. He loved spending time with his nieces and nephews, and he enjoyed working on anything mechanical.

Funeral services for Ruth Ellzey, 89, of Florien were held on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Cenchrea Church of the Nazarene with Bro. Wayne Chance and Bro. Ronnie Chance officiating. Burial followed in the Toro Cemetery.

Ruth Ellzey was born on Wednesday, May 18, 1932 in Hornbeck. She passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2021 in Leesville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Ance Ellzey; parents, Charles West and Jane Elmina (Funderburk) West; son, Captain William Dale Ellzey; grandson, Kody Heath Chance and her daughter-in-law, Mary Kelley.

She is survived by her sons, Allen Ellzey and wife Marla of Raleigh, North Carolina; Greg Ellzey and wife Donna of Florien; daughter, Kathy Chance and husband Wayne of Hornbeck; sister, Dorothy Bardwell of Shreveport; twelve grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Carolyn Marie (Ross) Meshell

Carolyn Meshell, 92, passed away peacefully at The Guest House in Shreveport on October 14, 2021 after a lengthy battle with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.

A memorial service were held on Friday, October 22, 2021, at Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home Many Chapel, 9891 Texas Highway, Many.

Carolyn was born on May 12, 1929, in Zwolle to Carl E. Ross and Irene (Kenne) Ross.

She is preceded by her parents, Carl and Irene Ross; husband, Garvis M. Meshell; daughter, Virginia Gatti; brother, Glen E. Ross; and great grandson, Jacob A. Meshell. She is survived by her son, Carl M. Meshell and wife Debra of Stonewall; sister, Mary Chamberlin of Dallas, Texas; niece, Carla Whipple of Dallas, Texas; five grandchildren, Ramanda Meshell; Jacquelyn Meshell; Chris Gatti; Richard Gatti; and Carolyn Gatti Nichols; twelve great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Bobbie Pitt of Houston, Texas on October 8, 2021 at the age of 91 years old. Emily Dillard was born on Sunday, August 23, 1936 in Pleasant Hill. She passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at Sabine Medical Center in Many.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Harold Dillard; son, Benjamin Alan Dillard; parents, Robert Melvin Johnson and Betty Lois (Middleton) Johnson; four brothers, Trentice; Glynn; Lloyd and Benton Johnson; and her sister, Yvonne Rogers.

Lawrence Craig

Funeral services honoring the life of Lawrence Craig were held on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Drive, Bossier City. Officiating was Lawrence’s lifelong friend Reverend Douglas Freeman.

Elmer Lawrence Craig was born March 10, 1952 in Zwolle and passed away Saturday, October 9, 2021 in Shreveport.

Lawrence was a loving husband, daddy, Papaw, son and brother. He loved cooking, camping and would always go the extra mile to make sure any holiday or event was thoroughly enjoyed by all present. He and his devoted wife, Pam, spent thousands of hours preparing meals, Halloween costumes and any other preparations necessary to make sure their family enjoyed whatever gathering was at hand. He was also a well-respected member of the construction industry in the state of Louisiana for more than 45 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Eula Craig; loving wife of 48 years, Pamela Craig; and sister, Evelyn Cooley.
