Peggy Joyce Ebert

Funeral services for Peggy Joyce Ebert were held Dec. 27 at Blanchard St. Denis Chapel with the Rev. Dean Hillman officiating. Interment was in Bay Springs Cemetery in Chopin. Ms. Ebert, 60, of Zwolle  passed away Monday, Dec. 22, 2014, at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria. She was born on a cold November day on the ninth of 1954 to her parents,  George Ebert and Eva Ebert. She loved and was full of life. She loved all sorts of animals, but tigers where her favorite. She never met a stranger, and always made people feel comfortable around her. She taught her children to always be polite and treat others with respect, to use the words like “Yes Sir” and “Ma’am,” and never be rude to anyone. She could fish all day long and catch them all day long. Bass fishing was her favorite. When she put her mind do doing something, like dancing, playing pool, cards, or darts, you had better bring your game, because she was hard to beat.

Funeral Services for Audrey Merle Torres, 93, of Zwolle, were held on Dec.28, at First Baptist Church of Zwolle with the Rev. Jerry Penfield officiating. Burial followed in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Zwolle. Audrey Merle Torres was born on Wednesday, June 22, 1921 in Florien. She passed away on Thursday, Dec. 25,2014 at Willis Knighton Northin Shreveport. She was preceded in deathby her parents, Garland and Bessie Keadle Evans; husband,Ernest R. Torres; son, Ernest DeWayne Torres; grandson,Kenny Joe Torres and threebrothers and one sister. She is survived by her daughters, FayeTorres and Jackie Rivers of Zwolle and Janet Sepulvado of Noble; sons, Kenneth Torres and wife, Noel, of Zwolle and Harold Dew andwife, Sherry, of Ft. Jesup; sister,Irene Armstrong of Fullerton, Calif.; special companion, Spanky; twelve grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren; numerous great-great grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Felix Haiman

Services for Felix Haiman were held on Dec. 26 at his home in California. He passed away on Monday, Dec. 22, 2014 at his residence in Many. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Haiman. He is survived by his son, Mike Haiman of Many; grandson, Michael Freemen of Pineville; granddaughter, Kristy Freeman of Shreveport; great grandson, Christopher Hopkins of Many and great granddaughter Katelynn Hopkins of Many.

Glova Ruth Flood was born on Tuesday, Feb. 3, 1942 in Lindsborg, Kan. She passed away on Sunday, Dec. 21, 2014 at
home peacefully with her family.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Forest and Vera Gordon Linaweaver; son, Jim Flood, Jr. and brothers, Maynard Linaweaver and Clarence Linaweaver. Leona Mae Salter Carroll

Funeral services for Leona Mae Salter Carroll, 94, of Florien were held on Saturday, Dec. 27 at Union Baptist Church. The Rev. Johnny Thompson and Bro. Patrick Morgan officiated. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Leona was born in Many on Dec. 18, 1920. She entered into eternal rest on Dec. 21, 2014 at Sabine Retirement and Rehab Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Crockett Salter and Bettie Cook Salter; husband, Kermit Sidney Carroll and grandson David Farmer. She is survived by her son, Stevie L. Carroll; daughters, Patsy Ellzey, Susan Farmer and Cynthia Taylor; grandchildren, Margie Fitch, Timothy Taylor and Brooke Taylor; great-grandson, Thomas Fitch; brothers, Sherman Salter, Benny Salter and a host of family and friends.
