Members from the Fort Jesup Society of the Children of the American Revolution, members of the Sabine DAR Chapter and two guests placed flags on veteran graves at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Cemetery and Fort Jesup Cemetery to honor and remember local veterans on Memorial Day. As each flag was placed, the veteran’s rank and name were read out loud and he or she was thanked for their service. The Fort Jesup Society will honor and remember veterans again on Veterans Day and have started planning their December Wreaths Across America ceremony to be held on December 16th.
