Amos Carter farmed his entire life…or at least until he was 90 years-old, when he stopped because children were afraid he
would get hurt. He was a farmer, forester and cattleman by trade and spent untold hours providing for his families. He married Inez Addison first and had four children, Bernice, A.L., Inez and Ike. Mrs. Carter died in her 30s and Carter remarried.
With his wife, Gladys, he had a daughter, Beth Carter Boyens of Many.
