On a day in which temperatures rose to a sweltering 100 degrees, Derek Mong won the September Tournament of the Many Bass Club with a five-fish stringer tipping the scales at 12.19 pounds. Mong caught his fish in the midlake area of Toledo Bend, using a jig in grass 8-10 feet deep. As a result, Mong stayed atop the year-to-date standings as well, owning an 18-point lead over his nearest competition, Jim Campbell. Though he only brought in four fish to be weighed, Dustin Anders took home second place. Anders weighed in a total of 10.77 pounds, averaging nearly 2.7 pounds per fish.
