Kenneth Anthony Williams

Kenneth Anthony Williams

Reverend Kenneth Williams, age 85, passed away on November 27, 2020, at Sabine Retirement and Rehab Center. The eldest of seven children, Fr. Ken was born on October 29, 1935, in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, to Antoine Octave Williams and Beatrice Marie Constant Williams.

His desire to become a Priest of Jesus Christ began early in his childhood, and at the age of 15 he left home to begin his studies. He received 12 years of seminary formation and simultaneously completed his high school education. His seminary education included St. Joseph Seminary in St. Benedict, LA, Mary Hill Seminary in Pineville, Louisiana, and he completed his theology studies at the Pontifical College Josephinum in Columbus, Ohio. He was called to Holy Orders by Bishop Charles P. Greco, at the age of 27, and ordained on May 25, 1963, at the Pontifical College Josephinum, by Archbishop Egidio Vagnozzi.

Roland Dees

The life of Roland Dees was celebrated on Wednesday December 2nd, 2020 at Alford Heights Baptist Church with Bro. Wayne Chance, Bro. Jay Begbie, and Bro. Marshall Ingle officiating. Interment followed at Many Cemetery in Many.

Roland was born on Wednesday, November 23rd 1949 in Many. Roland served as a Deacon at Alford Heights Baptist Church, he was a Master Mason at the Many Masonic Lodge, a Volunteer Fireman in Many since his teenage years, and had retired from the Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Office as a Transportation Officer. Roland loved serving his church, his family and his community.

He married his wife, Patricia Manasco Dees on April 24th, 1970. They enjoyed watching their grandchildren play sports for the Many Tigers and Florien Blackcats. He loved to deer hunt, camp and fish on Toledo Bend, mow his (or anybody else’s) yard, and was happiest sitting on a tractor. Roland loved his family, especially his grandchildren, more than anything on earth.

Julius Sepulvado

Funeral services for Julius Sepulvado, 79, of Noble, were held on Monday, December 7, 2020 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Keith Garvin officiating. Burial followed in the St. Joseph Cemetery.

Julius Sepulvado was born on Friday, April 11, 1941 in Shreveport. He passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at his residence in Noble.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben Sepulvado and Gracie Mae Sepulvado; son, David Leslie Sepulvado; grandsons, Phillip James Sepulvado and Aidon Dustin Sepulvado; brother, Joseph Bernis Sepulvado; brother-in-law, Joseph R. Paddie; and his nephew, Joseph Donald Paddie.

Funeral services for Mary Laroux (Aunt Cooter) age 90 of Marthaville will be held Wednesday December 9, 2020 at Cedar Grove Church Robeline with Rev. Brian Adamson officiating.

Visitation will be December 9 at 1pm at the church with funeral services following at 2 pm. Burial at Lambertown Cemetery in Shamrock.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Aliene Jordan Nelson; husband, N. L. Laroux; sisters, Cybil Gray; Johnnie Johnson; Janet Price; brother, Donald Nelson; grandson, Daniel Laroux.

Dorothy Belle Sliman Lovelady

Dorothy Lovelady, 92, was born Monday January 16, 1928 and after a brief battle with Covid went to stay with her family and friends in Heaven on Saturday November 28, 2020.

She grew up in and lived most of her life in Many. She loved her hometown and to visit her friends and family. She would always have a cup of coffee and food to share with anyone who came in her door. She loved her church, Many Church of the Nazarene of which she was a member as was her Mother before her. She enjoyed watching westerns on TV and playing games – card games, board games, word games, and especially Bingo. She was quick witted with a ready smile. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edna Mae and Dick Sliman; sisters, Selma Minor and Christine Thames; brothers, Negeeb Sliman Sr. and Dick Sliman Jr.; and two special nephews who were raised with her as brothers, Negeeb Sliman Jr. and Jamiel (Slick) Sliman.

Graveside funeral services for Eula Corley, 90, of Many, were held on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Kenneth Leach, Sr. officiating.

Eula Corley was born on January 23, 1930 in Many. She died on Friday, November 27, 2020 in Many.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Monroe Ross and Eula Matlain (Arthur) Ross; husband, John M. Corley; brothers, Edward Columbus “E. C.” Ross; Cecil Clinton “Doc” Ross; William Washington “Bill” Ross; and Allen Monroe “Tink” Ross; sisters, Evelyn Louise Ross; Audrey Katherine “Kat” Derrick; Mable Ross; Alma Lea Edwards; Versia Bernice Williams; and Eva Charlsie Wright; nephews, Orlan Oscar Ross; Randall Gene Ross; Danny Lee Derrick; and grandson, Eric Todd Knippers.

Shirley Bugg was born on Tuesday, March 1, 1938 in Natchitoches. She passed away on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at Sabine Retirement & Rehabilitation Center in Many.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernuis “Bill” Bugg; parents, Henry Self and Ora Lee (Stephens) Self; granddaughter, Brittany Pearsall; brothers, Wayne Self and Rodney Self; and her son-in-law, Harold Pearsall.

Gwendolyn Neal Migues

Gwendolyn Migues went to meet Jesus on December 2nd, 2020 after living a full life. Funeral services were held Monday, December 7, 2020 at Progress Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Pleasant Hill with Brother Steve Turner officiating and Pastor Drake Barnhill assisting. She was born in Pleasant Hill on September 30, 1921. She worked and retired from Amoco after 40 plus years of service. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was proceeded in death by her husband, Leonard Migues and son, Philip Migues.

Gwen is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Tom Reavis of Pleasant Hill. She is also survived by her brothers and sister, M.B. and Kitzia Gewin of Zichron, Ya’akov, Israel; Jack and Kathleen Gewin of Issaquah, Washington; Clarence and Carolyn Gewin of Pleasant Hill; Paul and Mildred Gewin of Many; and Peggy Boschert of St. Charles, Missouri.

Funeral services for Ella Fay Oxley, 77, of Many, were held on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at Emmanuel Gospel Church with Rev. Howard Pennington and Rev. Clinton Alford officiating. Burial followed in the Warren Cemetery.

Ella Fay Oxley was born on Saturday, February 6, 1943 in Elaine, Arkansas. She passed away on Friday, December 4, 2020 at her residence in Many.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marion Stewart and Udell (Oliver) Stewart; husband, Aubrey Oxley; grandson, Zackary Rhame; and her great grandson, Matthew Buxton.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna Petty and husband Wayne of Leesville; sons, Rickey Oxley of Many; Lynn Oxley of Many; and Mark Oxley and wife Stephanie of Many; sister, Jewel Whale of Washington; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Oxley of Many; brother, William “Buddy” Stewart of Many; special friend, Aline Whitaker of Many; four grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Celebration of Life services for Jacob Patton will be held at Pendleton Assembly of God Church, 14152 Texas Hwy. Many on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at 10 AM.

Jacob Austin Patton was born on November 7, 1999 in Atlanta, Texas. He was taken from us way to soon in an untimely death on Sunday, November 29, 2020 at the tender age of 21. He grew up and enjoyed most of his life in and around Sabine Parish.
