Rapides rallies past Many to claim 3-2A title

The Rapides Mustangs knew they were going to be in for quite the battle last Friday night against the homestanding Many Tigers. But in the end, the Mustangs were able to gallop away with not only a victory, but also the outright District 3-2A championship.

Six parish teams reach girls’ playoffs

Basketball season for six Sabine Parish high school girls’ basketball teams will continue at least for one more game.
Florien, Converse, Negreet, Zwolle, Ebarb and Pleasant Hill all punched their tickets to the playoffs on Monday afternoon as
the Louisiana High School Athletic Association announced the girls’ playoff brackets for each of the state’s seven  classifications

Tigers sweep trio of games last week

The Many Tigers defeated DeRidder on the road in nondistrict play, while also sweeping a pair of District 3-2A games against Oakdale and Oak Hill, keeping pace with league-leading Rapides. With the wins, the Tigers improved to 15-6 overall on the season, including a 9-1 mark in league play. The Tigers played Bunkie at home on Tuesday, before road games at Pickering and Rosepine on Feb. 14 and Feb 18.

Pleasant Hill sweeps District 3-C titles

EBARB – The Pleasant Hill Lady Eagles had three players score in double figures last Tuesday night en route to claiming
a 61-39 victory over the homestanding Ebarb Lady Rebels in District 3-C play. With the victory, the Lady Eagles not only improved to 11- 17 overall, but they also claimed the District 3-C championship, having swept Ebarb (13-15, 0-2) during league play.

Lady Blackcats down Negreet, 70-43

FLORIEN – Things may have gotten a little batty during the fourth quarter, but the Florien Lady Blackcats were able to hold on for the win. Florien (26-7, 3-1) opened up a 40-point lead early in the fourth en route to a 70-43 victory over the Negreet Lady Indians in a District 3-B contest last Thursday night, which also featured a couple of unexpected visitors
