Funeral services for Judith Lynne Baker, 80, of Many, LA, will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Little Flock Baptist Church with Bro. Ottis Branam officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Friday, August 19, 2022, at 6:00 PM at Little Flock Baptist Church. Judith Lynne Baker was born on Thursday, August 21, 1941 in Grand Rapids, MI. She passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2022 in Many, LA. She is preceded in death by her mother, Sally Mercedes Merryman Leland and father, William Smitts.

John H. Britt

John Britt, 70, was born November 19th, 1951, and passed away August 18th, 2022. John was best known for always having a hard work ethic. He opened his own welding and fabrication business in 1990 in Zwolle. He later owned a chipping and fuel business and was able to design and manufacture his own Britt Logging Trailer. He retired in 2010 and then enjoyed his days sitting on the front porch overlooking the lake and taking care of his fur babies.

He is survived by his wife, Colleen Britt; son, Chris Britt; his beloved fur baby, Sassie; special cousin, Agnes Touchton Aaron; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A’Lyssa was born on March 30, 2022 in DeRidder, Louisiana to Trent Duane Carlock and Kaitlyn Denise Nichols.

James Carter, Sr., 82 of Converse Louisiana died August 6,2022. Mr. Carter was born May 31st, 1940 in Atlanta, Louisiana to Bo and Blanche (Lovett) Carter.

He is survived by his sister, Sharon Yannarella and husband Tom; brother-inlaw, Thomas Gresham; daughter, Cindy Tingle and husband Virgil; son, Jimmy Carter and wife Terri; son, Richy Carter and wife Susan; son, Scott Carter; son Jamie Carter; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and a great-great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Carter; his father Bo Carter; his mother, Blanche Carter; sister, Betty Herrman and sister, Jo Gresham.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, August 12, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Sardis Cemetery in Atlanta, LA with Jason Johnston and Jared Vincent officiating.

Margaret Oosta, 89, passed away peaceably on Friday, August 5, 2022, of heart complications. She was a Shreveport native, born in 1933 to Chris B. and Janie Stovall.

She graduated from Byrd High School in Shreveport, business school and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. While in the service in Illinois, she met her husband, Richard John Oosta who was returning from the Korean Conflict. They married and moved south for him to pursue a medical career at Louisiana State University.
