Barbara Jean Richey Wedgeworth

Barbara Wedgeworth, 78, of Pelican, Louisiana, passed peacefully away Friday evening, June 3rd while surrounded by close relatives who loved her dearly, including her daughters, Judy Wedgeworth Shelton, and Velma Jean Wedgeworth Stanley. Barbara’s passing came after a series of medical complications. Judy and Jean would like to invite all friends and family to their mother’s visitation Monday, June 6th beginning at 5 p.m. A celebration of her life will be held the following day, June 7th at 2 p.m., each at the Warren Meadows Funeral Home Chapel in Many, LA. The service will be officiated by Bro. Tony Shreffler followed by interment at the Pelican Cemetery in Pelican, LA.

Marcia Cox was born on Thursday, October 25, 1934 in Zwolle, LA. She passed away on Monday, May 23, 2022 in Hemphill, TX.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Cox; parents, Morris Brandon and Estell White; and brothers, Delbert Brandon and Wayne Brandon.

She is survived by her brother, Lawrence Brandon of Fairmount, TX; sister, Eutha Blum of Fairmount, TX; and step-daughters, Sherrie Southern of Kansas and Jill Cox, of New York; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers will be: Darryl Brandon, Darrin Brandon, Josh Brandon, Luke Brandon, Jess Brandon, and Buddy Brandon.

Walter Eugene Reed

Walter Reed, 79, of Zwolle, Louisiana entered into eternal rest on May 15, 2022 in Many, Louisiana.

Walter was born on September 22, 1942 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Charles Henry Reed, Sr. and Lottie Elizabeth Fairchild Reed.

Walter was a retired Civil Engineer from Louisiana District of Traffic Division after 34 years of honorable service to the state of Louisiana. Walter’s interests included construction projects and bass fishing.

Preceding Walter are his parents, Charles and Lottie Reed; and his brother, Charles Henry Reed, Jr. He is survived by his former spouse, Monica S. Reed of Ethel, LA; his son, Ronnie Ryan Reed of Zwolle, LA; along with numerous cousins.

Zula is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Curtis Hugh Fox; and sister, Sylvia. Left to cherish her memory include her son, Frank Fox and wife, Judy; sisters, Myrtie Dixon, and Carolyn Sue Ott; granddaughters, Krystal Simmons and husband Clint; Casey Mathews and husband Robert; and Kayla Fox; great-grandchildren, Carter and Emily Simmons; and a host of other family and friends.

Carroll Dean Ellzey

Carroll Ellzey was born on March 14, 1948. He passed away on Monday, May 23, 2022 at his home in Florien, LA. Lifelong resident of Sabine Parish, Mr. Ellzey led a life of service. He was a member of Plainview Baptist Church and served as a deacon for 27 years. He was a U. S. Airforce veteran and a volunteer fireman for South Sabine Fire District, where he served as District Chief and Board Chairman. After retiring from his position as Sabine Parish Assessor, he enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren, hunting, farming and watching all of the birds that he fed daily.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie and Audra Ellzey; two sisters, Ruby Ivor Ellzey and Alice Ellzey Jones; nine brothers: Johnny Leon Ellzey, William Myron Ellzey, Jefferson Huey Ellzey, Samuel Elton Ellzey, Elwin Ellzey, Koy Davis Ellzey, Victor Lindell Ellzey, Charles Ned Ellzey and Teddy McCloy Ellzey.

Debbie was born on October 5, 1954 in Shreveport, Louisiana. She passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, May 21, 2022 in Many, Louisiana. Debbie was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, friend and a DeeDee to many. Debbie was also a local business owner – she was proprietor and jeweler of Russell’s Jewelry, where she worked for more than 50 years. Her creativity did not end with her career. In her spare time, she was an avid quilter with the Sew Crafty Quilters, loved to bake and decorate cakes, and find (and possibly finish) a new craft project.

Interment will be held in the church cemetery.

Glynda, born June 13, 1951 to Abram Ezernack and Lela Meshell Ezernack, being the firstborn girl, baby sister was the pride and joy of her 5 older brothers. She was raised Catholic and faithfully prayed the rosary.
