Chaydon Wayne Boggs

Chaydon Boggs, 16, of Zwolle entered into eternal rest on March 7, 2022, in Zwolle.

Funeral services honoring the life of Chaydon were held at Noble Baptist Church in Noble on Friday, March 11, 2022, with Bro. Jimmy Price officiating. Interment was held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Zwolle.

Chaydon was born on August 18, 2005, in Shreveport to Joseph Andre Parrie and Melinda Diane Boggs.

When people question if God is real and did he really send angels on this earth, I have to tell them about our family’s angel that God sent us! Our family was blessed with the biggest brown eyed boy for 16 years. Chaydon Wayne was our light on this earth. He made the sun seem dim.

Mrs. Carolyn “Gina” Nelson

A graveside service honoring the life of Mrs. Carolyn Nelson, 58, of Benson was held on March 8, 2022, at Old Union Cemetery in Benson with Bro. Jimmy Price officiating.

Carolyn was better known as Gina to all her friends and family. Gina was born on January 1, 1964, to Jack Jr. and Joann Fisher. Gina passed away at home in Benson on Wednesday, March 2, 2022.

Gina is preceded in death by her daughter, Bobbie Jo Nelson; and her mother, Joann Fisher. She is survived by her husband, Ben Nelson, of 39 years; her son, Jackson Nelson and fiancé, Ariel Welch of Pleasant Hill; her dad, Jack Fisher, Jr.; her sister, Patsy Diane McCune, and her husband, Barry; her granddaughter, Ava Marie; her grandson, Ryder James, and a host of family and friends.

Dottie Faye Thaxton

Funeral services for Dottie Thaxton, 88, of Florien, were held on Sunday, March 6, 2022 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church with Rev. Buddy Freeman, Rev. John Lewing II and Rev. Dennis Bignar officiating. Burial followed in the Middle Creek Cemetery.

Dottie Thaxton was born on Sunday, October 15, 1933 in Peason, Louisiana. She passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at her residence in Florien. Dot graduated from Mount Carmel in1953 and married Harvey Samuel in May of 1953.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Thaxton; parents, Otis and Sylvie Westfall; sister, Geneva Bell and brother-in-law Bobbie Joe; brother, Charlie Westfall; and sister-in-law Pat and Maurice Westfall and sister-in-law, Janice Westfall; and nephew, Scotty Bell.

Terry L. Schmidt

Terry Schmidt, 73, of Converse was born on November 14, 1948, in Norfolk, Nebraska. He passed away on February 22, 2022, at his home in Converse with his wife of 46 years by his side.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Lois Schmidt; sister, Linda Suzanne Schmidt; and his beloved pup, “Mikey.”

Terry is survived by his wife, Betty Schmidt of Converse; son, Julius John “J.J.” Schmidt and wife Andrea “Andi”; two beautiful granddaughters, Kimber Jay Schmidt and Allie Beth Schmidt, all of Blairstown, Missouri; and daughters, Teresa Suzanne Schmidt and husband Jeff of Chanute, Kansas; Lela Michelle Schmidt of Atlanta, Georgia.

SSGT Terry L. Schmidt served six years (1970-1976) in the United States Marine Corp. Rifle expert, bulk fuel, heavy equipment, and transportation were a few of his many accomplishments in the corp. He wore the Marine Corp uniform proudly.

Raised in Many, she was the daughter of James Thomas DeBose and Gladys Hopkins DeBose.

Dr. David Howard Horner

Dr. David Horner, devoted husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, friend, and child of God, passed away on, Wednesday, February 23, 2022 after a difficult journey with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Throughout his illness he sustained comfort and courage through his faith in God. His generosity, drive, selflessness, and faith persisted to the end of his time with us. With a keen mind, indomitable sense of humor, love for family and community, Dr. Horner served his patients to the very end. It was his life’s work to be first a humble servant of God, serving his family, his church, and community.

Dr. Horner exhibited the tenants of faith, family, and community. A member of First Baptist Church of Many, where he served as a longtime member of the church choir and deacon body. A member of Masonic Lodge, Many 411. And a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity.

Funeral services for Theddie Miller, 85, of Florien, LA, will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church (Toro Community) with Rev. Clinton Alford and Jasper Crochet officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Toro Community, LA.

Theddie Miller was born on Friday, April 10, 1936 in Florien, LA. He passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2022 at his residence in Florien, LA.

Thed attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Church for most of his life. After a lengthy career as a pipefitter, Thed enjoyed his retirement living and fishing on Toledo Bend as well as a cup of coffee on his porch with friends and loved ones.

Harry was born on May 8, 1957, in Alexandria, Louisiana to Harry Vernon Branch, Sr. and Ruth Carolyn “Bebe” Ward Branch.

Wanda was born on October 6, 1933, to Doyle and Thelma Daugherty, in El Dorado, Arkansas, and entered into eternal rest on February 18, 2022, in Converse.

She was a graduate of Converse High School and resided in the Union Springs Community in Converse. Wanda was a great woman of faith who loved her Lord and her church family. She served as a pianist for most of her adult life and held numerous positions at her church. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

Funeral services honoring the life of Joseph were held on Monday, February 21, 2022, located at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Zwolle. Officiating the service was Fr. Keith Garvin. Interment was held in the church cemetery.

Joseph was born on June 9, 1940, in Noble to Wesley Henry Sepulvado and Selena Ebarb Sepulvado.
