Funeral services for Joan Bush, 76, of Many, were held on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Warren Meadows Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bronson Richardson officiating. Burial followed in the Warren Cemetery.

Joan Bush was born on Saturday, July 29, 1944 in Many. She passed away on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Bush; and parents, Freeman Manasco and Lois (Pruitt) Manasco.

She is survived by her daughters, Melissa Hankins and husband Terry of Many; Julia Bush of Many; sons, Jimmy Bush and wife Kimberly of Metairie, Louisiana; Jared Bush and wife Tina of Lumberton, Texas; sisters, Cheryl Garrett of Many; Vicki Martin of Many; Judy Vidalier of Many; brother, Craeton Manasco of Many; twelve grandchildren; five great grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services for Barbara Veuleman, 78, of Robeline, were held on Sunday, February 28, 2021 at Friendship Nazarene with Rev. James Ericson officiating. Burial followed in the Ft. Jesup Cemetery.

Barbara Veuleman was born on Sunday, January 24, 1943 in Shreveport. She passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Many Health Care North in Many.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Ray “Buddy” Veuleman, Sr.; parents, Veldon Presson and Ruth (Isgitt) Presson; and two brothers, Austin Presson and Bobby Presson.

Forrest Peyton Youngblood, Jr.

Forrest Youngblood, Jr., 91, of Noble, passed away on February 16, 2021 at his Family’s residence in Westlake, Louisiana.

Peyton was born February 9, 1930 in Noble to Forrest Peyton Youngblood, Sr., and Elaine Tatum Youngblood. He served his country honorably during the Korean War in the United States Army. He retired from Citgo in 1983 after serving thirty-seven years as an Operator. Peyton operated many businesses throughout his life. He was known as a jack of all trades. There was nothing he could not fix. He lived in Westlake for forty years before returning to his hometown of Noble in 1994. Peyton was a member of Noble Baptist Church and the Noble Masonic Lodge.

Those left to cherish his memory are, his daughter, Sarah Youngblood Roy of Westlake, Louisiana; grandson, Jarod Roy and wife Jamie of Westlake, Louisiana; granddaughter, Kayla Roy of Westlake, Louisiana; and his great grandchildren, Madison and Brady Roy.

Jackie Rivers was born on Monday, November 3, 1958 in Lake Charles. He passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2021 in Shreveport.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Carson Rivers and Elaine (Sepulvado) Rivers; father and mother-in-law, Ernest and Audrey Torres; brothers-in-law, Harold Dew; Ernest DeWayne Torres; nephew, Kenny Joe Torres; nieces, Shae Colston and Shonda Torres.

Evelyn Lynette (Roark) Armour

Evelyn Armour, 73, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday morning, February 17, 2021, at her home in Decatur, Texas. She had been suffering from late-stage dementia for several months.

She was born on December 27, 1947, in Many, Louisiana, to the late James (Jay) Roark and the late Aylean Leach Roark. Evelyn was the third of six children: Shelton, Merilyn, Tommy, Phillip, and Richard. She graduated from Many High School in Many, Louisiana. Evelyn met her husband Robert (Bob) William Armour while they were both attending Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana. Bob and Evelyn were united in marriage August 24, 1968. She loved to spend time with her family, paint, and travel the country as a U.S. Air Force wife for over twenty years. Evelyn was a loving, caring, and devoted wife to her husband Bob for 53 years and mother to her children Renee, Robert, and Ashley.

Funeral services honoring the life of Mrs. Emma Ward were held on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Many Chapel with Bro. Ken Price officiating; Interment followed at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Florien. Emma was born June 6, 1947 in Many to Helen Lucille (Moss) Meredith and Arthur Bell and she entered into rest on February 8, 2021 at her residence in Many.

Emma had lots of milestones in her lifetime. One of her biggest and most important was the fact that she graduated from Upper Iowa University where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in healthcare and family services. She would eventually become a social worker who worked with mentally challenged children. She demonstrated her helpful and caring nature through the love she showed to her family and to her community.

Michael Mancil, Jr. passed away on February 17, 2021, at home in Baton Rouge, LA. He was born on January 20, 1976, in Shreveport, LA to Mike and Lou Mancil of Belmont, LA. Mikey spent his early years in Many, LA and then moved with his family several times following his dad’s job with Trans LA Gas and ATMOS Energy. Eventually his family settled in Big Spring, TX where he graduated from Big Spring High School in 1994 before attending Sul Ross University in Alpine, TX. After graduation, Mikey settled in Baton Rouge, LA, where he began his career with Roper Construction building custom homes.

Nubbin was born on November 5, 1935 in Converse to Elvin Marvin Smith and Mildred Rachel Webb Smith. He entered into eternal rest on February 14, 2021 in Converse.

Nubbin is preceded by his parents, Elvin and Mildred Smith; brother, Morris Estes; and his sister, Shirley Smith. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Arlene Smith of Converse; sons, Richard Smith and wife Delila of Converse; Steve Smith of Ivey, Georgia; step-sons, Tommy Dill and wife Pam of Hot Springs, Arkansas; Don French and wife Angie of Rockwall, Texas; daughter, Belinda Scrantz and husband Kevin of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana; step-daughter, Donisa Page and husband Paul of Slidell; brother, Fred Smith and wife Loretta of Bossier City; along with 17 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 3 greatgreat grandchildren.

Nell Maxey was born on Sunday, July 29, 1934 in Pleasant Hill. She passed away on Monday, February 8, 2021 at Many Health Care North in Many.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude Edward McGaha and Georgia (Miles) McGaha; husband, Guy Wayne Maxey; and her brother and sisters.

She is survived by her sons, David Maxey and wife Ellen of Zwolle; Larry Maxey and wife Daisy of Noble; grandchildren, Jennifer Martinez; Tim Maxey; Brandi Brandon; Erica Maxey; and Justin Maxey; twelve great grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers were Robert Garcie, Tim Maxey, James Procell, Gavin Sepulvado, Kenneth Martinez and Joseph Martinez.

Honorary Pallbearer will be Kenny Martinez.
